March 14 - Today's low at NMSU was 43F.  The forecasted high for Las Cruces from the NWS is 76F, about 6 degrees above normal. The record high for today is 84F from 1997. A weak cold front crept over our area early today and cooled things down just a bit compared to yesterday.

Today we will be having breezy winds in the range of 7 to 9 mph out of the southsoutheast.

The EPA AQI forecast shows an area of moderate air quality over our most of Dona Ana County. I expect this to be from ozone since we have the right ingredients of sunlight, emissions from the Paso del Norte, and fairly low winds.

This coming Sunday afternoon could bring in some wind high enough to blown dust around in our area. The 12Z GFS run for Sunday afternoon is shown below. Once we get a little closer to the weekend we'll have to wait and see how the model treats the wind mixing down to the surface.
