Feb. 18 - Low of 40F this morning on the NMSU campus and high of 76F. We have a break in the winds till Sunday where we might have some winds that could loft dust. We'll have to wait for the forecasts. The AQI forecast for today is calling for green or good air quality as shown by the map below.


This is the NWS forecast as of Friday evening:

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 77. Windy, with a light wind becoming south southwest between 28 and 31 mph. Winds could gust as high as 44 mph.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 46. Windy, with a southwest wind 21 to 24 mph decreasing to between 9 and 12 mph. Winds could gust as high as 33 mph.

Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 69. Windy, with a west southwest wind 14 to 17 mph increasing to between 28 and 31 mph. Winds could gust as high as 44 mph.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 36. Breezy, with a west northwest wind 17 to 20 mph decreasing to between 7 and 10 mph. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph.
 Particulate concentrations at Sunland Park were highest in the morning along with low winds. Winds were fairly low all day, no more than 4 m/s so we are taking a break from the high winds.
At the Anthony station we also saw the highest PM concentrations in the morning along with low winds.
