Dec. 13, 2010 - Warm and sunny day. High at the LC airport was 66F. Today we see just a brief spike in PM in our evening spike sites. In the Sunland Park City Yard site the peak PM10 occurred at 5 pm with a concentration of 205 µg/m3 and a PM2.5 concentration of 32 µg/m3.
At the Anthony site we saw a peak at the same hour but remained higher than earlier in the day up past 10 pm.
The PM10 at Chaparral showed some elevated values after a breezy afternoon, so not sure of the cause of the evening peak.

The EPA AQI map shows "good" air quality over our region at 11 pm MST.
We could be reaching near record highs on Tuesday. The forecast for Las Cruces is 71F. The record is 73F set in 1995. So far the forecast for Wednesday is breezy, with a west wind 7 to 10 mph increasing to between 18 and 21 mph. Winds could gust as high as 33 mph during the day. That's high enough to move some dust.
