Jan. 6 - The day started off with a low of 30F at Las Cruces airport and 24F in Deming with high clouds. Highest particulates this morning are in Anthony so far.
We also saw a small low wind high PM event at the Sunland Park City Yard station. I say small since the peak PM10 was only 83 µg/m3.

A storm system looks to be on its way for the weekend. The Albuquerque NWS forecast office produced a nice graphic of this storm system showing the track of the low from today till Saturday.
The day 2 QPF map shows some precipitation at the boundaries of our study area. The map shows precip from Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon.
The next day shows some promise for precipitation over the eastern part of the study area based on the day 3 QPF map below. The map shows precip from Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon.
Overall it doesn't look like much precipitation but we'll take whatever we can get. The southeast corner of New Mexico will appreciate any precipitation. The map below shows the precipitation deficit over the past 30 days. As you can see most of the area is less than 25 percent of normal. Western Grant and northern Hidalgo counties are doing a little better.
