Jan. 10 -

The morning started off with frost covering surfaces and dense fog in the Mesilla Valley. The GOES fog product at 14 UTC (7 am) shows fog as yellow areas and appears to cover other low lying portions of southern NM this morning.
We get road obscuration due to dust often in the spring but dense fog like this doesn't occur that often. The photo below was snapped at 8:29 am on Roadrunner Parkway in Las Cruces.

Below are this morning's observations at our NWS Cooperative weather station.
                 Yesterday            Today

The AQI forecast for today shows good air quality over the region.
