Jan. 8 -

An upper level low brought us some good rain in some areas of the study region. At 10pm I had 0.48 inches of rain at my CoCoRaHS gauge and hasn't changed over to snow as the temperatures are above freezing.  Air quality is expected to be in the good range as the precipitation tends to wash-out the pollutants and keep the soil moisture high preventing wind erosion for a little while.

Below are this morning's observations at a couple NWS Cooperative weather stations.

                 Yesterday           Today
Station       High(F)  Normal     Low(F)  Normal  Record Low
NMSU            66        58        28      27      7 (1971)
Antelope Wells  69        60        32      25      4 (1997)
Glenwood        62        54        23      24      4 (1971)

The AQI forecast for tomorrow is showing good air quality in the region.
