May 3

Starting the warming trend. We may see temperatures at or near 90 at the lower elevations by the end of the week in our region. Winds will be from the southeast today. The highest winds will be isolated to our western study region. Below are the RUC winds at 3 pm MDT.

The AQI forecast is starting to show more moderate air quality today. The moderate area in Dona Ana County is due to ozone. This week is also Air Quality Awareness week. Most areas of the US are beginning to see ozone in the moderate or worse at the beginning of May. With the lowering of the ozone standard this may change and move into April.
