Dec. 17 - No rain for most of the study area. The NWS multisensor rain product showed precipitation only on the western sides of our study area.
On the ground a CoCoRaHS observer in Deming measured 0.02 inches and the rest of Luna County with only a trace amount. It looks like Lordsburg received 0.07 inches and folks up north in Grant County were blessed with rain in the 0.18 to 0.55 inch range. Also a little snow north of Silver City with an CoCoRaHS observer seeing 1 inch of snow west of Pinos Altos.
I only saw one observer in Hidalgo County. Let's see if we can get a few more observers in that area.

The Air Quality Index is in the good range all throughout the region according to the US EPA. I just verified this looking at the NMED air monitoring stations. The plot below is from the core site in Las Cruces.
