Dec. 7 - Mid-day high PM10 event today in Mesilla Valley. I saw this first at the project core site with a peak PM10 of 413 µg/m3 and PM2.5 of 17 µg/m3. Earlier in the morning, PM2.5 was high, in the range of 30 µg/m3.

 

We see this spike in PM also in Anthony.

 

But not on the west mesa of Las Cruces

 

I think this was more of a valley wide event rather than one impacting the region. The west mesa is higher in elevation and a distance from the valley. You can see a splike in PM a little bit at the Sunland Park City Yard site but it only peaked around 120 µg/m3 there. Also winds were a bit higher there, probably ventilating out the pollutants.
